About The Author

Ashley Turkson

Ashley Turkson writes children’s stories grounded in everyday life, family discipline, and emotional honesty. Her work focuses on believable children, those who argue, resist, misbehave, and slowly learn through experience rather than perfection. In Not Again, Akwasi!, she brings together school routines, neighborhood dynamics, and family expectations to explore how character is shaped through consequences and reflection. Ashley’s storytelling balances humor with seriousness, allowing young readers to laugh at mischief while recognizing its impact. She writes in a clear, engaging voice that invites parents and teachers to read alongside children and discuss honesty, respect, and accountability. Her stories avoid lectures, instead letting events and outcomes speak for themselves. Through sharp dialogue and familiar situations, Ashley shows that growth often comes after mistakes, and that love, discipline, and second chances can exist together. Her goal is to create stories that feel real, spark conversations, and help young readers understand that bravery sometimes means apologizing, telling the truth, and choosing better the next time.

About Book

NOT AGAIN

AKWASI

Akwasi is nine years old, clever, stubborn, and always testing limits. In Not Again, Akwasi!, Ashley Turkson captures a series of misadventures that follow him from home to school and back again. The story opens with Akwasi’s early-morning rush to school and quickly unfolds into trouble: stealing oranges from a grumpy neighbor, clashing with a strict teacher during a math “mental” quiz, and grabbing a cane in anger. His punishment leads to an apology book, but when he forgets his sister Angela’s school fees, Akwasi chooses revenge over honesty. One lie causes his teacher to lose most of his salary, and guilt slowly replaces pride. At home, his mischief continues with Aunty Erica, ending in a kitchen accident that forces Akwasi to protect Angela at any cost. Lashes, sweeping neighbors’ yards, and an unexpected lesson from Mr. Appiah push Akwasi toward reflection. When Uncle Tsei is deliberately locked out, Akwasi faces the hardest lesson yet: apologies mean nothing without real change.
